And she confessed that she has a habit of throwing “out of control” parties in abandoned houses.

Walt Disney Pictures has cast Alfred Molina in the Jerry Bruckheimer-produced The Sorcerer’s Apprentice. Nicolas Cage stars in modern-day New York City-set adaptation of the classic story from Fantasia. Jay Baruchel stars as Cage’s Apprentice, who gets into trouble when the broomstick he’s tasked to do his chores while the Sorcerer is away somehow develops a mind of its own. Molina will play an evil sorcerer.

Jon Turteltaub reteams with his National Treasure star. Molina just finished another Bruckheimer production, a big epic video game adaptation Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time. Teresa Palmer is also on board to play Baruchel’s love interest. Production was gearing up to shoot in New York City later this month.

Walt Disney Studios Home Entertainment have announced the US Blu-ray Disc release of Bedtime Stories on Sunday 5th April 2009, followed soon after by the Region 1 DVD on 7th April 2009. Adam Sandler stars in this family comedy about a hotel handyman whose life changes when the lavish bedtime stories he tells his niece and nephew start to magically come true.

The Blu-ray Disc release is a combo-pack featuring a Blu-ray Disc with the film and extras, a bonus standard definition DVD version of the film, plus a DisneyFile digital copy of the film in your choice of iTunes and Windows Media formats. Priced at $39.99 SRP, it will be “available for a limited time only”.

On DVD there is a choice of single-disc ($29.99 SRP) and two-disc Deluxe Edition ($34.99 SRP) releases. The former is barebones, while the latter includes extras and a digital copy of the film.

Extras on the Blu-ray Disc and Deluxe Edition DVD releases include:

- Until Gravity Do Us Part – A behind-the-scenes look at the film’s mindboggling special effects

- It’s Bugsy – A close up look at the breakout star of Bedtimes Stories, Bugsy the big-eyed guinea pig

Teresa Palmer has settled back in the US after her much-publicised Australian holiday – and now has plans to buy a luxury pad in LA.

The Adelaide starlet is on the verge of stardom in the US. She is set to start filming a lead role in Disney epic The Sorceror’s Apprentice, opposite Nicolas Cage, in New York next month.

Teresa said this week she was amazed she’d been picked by super producer Jerry Bruckheimer. “I can’t believe it happened to me and I’m very flattered that he wanted me,” she said.

Heath Ledger’s family yesterday kicked off Oscar celebrations a few days early at a Hollywood party.

The late Ledger’s father Kim, mother Sally and sister Kate flew into Los Angeles with a dozen family members two days ago and were guests of honour at a private cocktail party held to celebrate the awarding of the inaugural Heath Ledger Scholarship, reports LA correspondent Peta Hellard.

Actresses Abbie Cornish, Isabel Lucas, Rose Byrne and Teresa Palmer were among the 150 guests.
