Teresa Palmer has settled back in the US after her much-publicised Australian holiday – and now has plans to buy a luxury pad in LA.
The Adelaide starlet is on the verge of stardom in the US. She is set to start filming a lead role in Disney epic The Sorceror’s Apprentice, opposite Nicolas Cage, in New York next month.
Teresa said this week she was amazed she’d been picked by super producer Jerry Bruckheimer. “I can’t believe it happened to me and I’m very flattered that he wanted me,” she said.
Teresa is one of the celebrities taking part in the Winter ’09 campaign for Just Jeans. She’s been photographed (looking amazing!) and interviewed for their website. I have added the campaign’s shoot and screencaptures to the gallery. As well as three videos to our vault.
This is an article from The Daily Telegraph, pretty identical to the Sunday article but there are a few additional bits.
Teresa Palmer recalls the exact moment she realised she was about to become a bona fide Hollywood moviestar.
“I was sitting in an LA Starbucks in my trackie daks, catching up on gossip over a latte with two girlfriends, when I received a call from my agent saying Adam Sandler wanted to meet with me – right away.”
Following an emergency wardrobe reconfiguration in which Palmer dashed to the bathroom and swapped her sweatpants and hoodie for her girlfriend’s “cute leggings and tee”, she hotfooted it to Sony Pictures Studios in Culver City to meet one of the world’s biggest stars and audition for the role of his love interest in Walt Disney Pictures kids’ flick Bedtime Stories.
Most of you know that Justice League of America has been indefinitely shelved. Teresa gave a little update to Confidential recently.
“I haven’t heard anything about (Justice League) in months and months and months. We are still attached to the movie but who knows if it will ever happen.”
For more about the status of the project and if it will ever see the light of day, read here. We will of course be there to follow it. But I think it’s highly unlikely we will see JLA anytime soon.
Back in December we reported reported that Teresa would be judging a TV competition in Australia. Here is the results:
A short film set in Wauchope High School and starring local students has beaten 78 other hopefuls to be crowned the winner of the Optus one80project.
The winning pilot Wauchope, written and directed by former resident Reuben Field, is about a class of high school students facing an uncertain future and the smart-arsed teacher who tries to jolt them out of their apathy.
Things are quiet with Teresa again, but check out this wonderful interview with Palmer back from Bedtime Stories over on Reelz.
By the way, Young Americans still has a January 30, 2009 release on IMDb.com; however being that date is this Friday and there hasn’t been one new still, cast promotions – and most importantly a trailer – I think it’s safe to say it’s not happening… unfortunately.
Very exciting news – Miss Palmer has won the female leading role in Disney’s The Sorcerer’s Apprentice, alongside Nicolas Cage and Jay Baruchel! Congratulations to Teresa! I personally loved the segment in Fantasia. From AHM:
Australian actress Teresa Palmer has been tapped to star in Disney’s The Sorcerer’s Apprentice, alongside Nicolas Cage and Jay Baruchel.
Palmer, who is currently seen in the Adam Sandler picture Bedtime Stories, will play the Baruchel’s love interest in the film based on the music in the Mickey Mouse classic Fantasia, per Hollywood Reporter.
The film will center on the apprentice, played by Baruchel, who is left to man a magic workshop when the sorcerer master (Cage) leaves. The apprentice had trusted his chores to a broomstick, but things went awry went the broom develops a mind of its own.
Pirates of the Caribbean producer Jerry Bruckheimer will handle the film; Jon Turteltaub will direct. Cage will executive produce.
